IMPORT / RESTORE FROM ZIP FILE WHEN IMPORTED THROUGH E-MAIL. *************************************************************************** NOTE:- Please NEVER change the name of backup files while making a backup for data export purpose. *************************************************************************** -------------------------- IMPORT / RESTORE PROCEDURE -------------------------- 1. Save the file in D:\BACKUP folder (Remember to select ATTACHMENT or ALL FILE (*.*) in SAVE AS TYPE while saving. Otherwise window saves the ZIP file with a wrong name, a normal PC user can not understand) 2. Start the programme. 3. Select ZIP/HDD Restore 4. Give the file name example D:\BACKUP\MONDAY (without .ZIP extension) (D:\BACKUP\MONDAY is an example you should change the name to actual PATH & FILE NAME example E:\BACKUP\THURSDAY if you want to restore the data from THURSDAY file saved in backup folder of E: drive) 5. Press ENTER 6. Press Y (in window RED WINDOW) 7. Press ENTER 8. Press A (in window BLACK WINDOW) (If the restore procedure does not asks you for y/n/a in the black window it means that the file is not there in the path you mentioned at step 4. Then read SIMPLE TROUBLE SHOOTING.) 9. Select START PROGRAMME *************************************************************************** ----------------------- SIMPLE TROUBLE SHOOTING ----------------------- *************************************************************************** If you are sure that you have saved the backup file in D:\BACKUP folder, you restored the data but the software does not shows the updated data, it means that there was a problem in saving the file at D:\BACKUP folder and file name might have changed to MONDAY.ZIP.ZIP This is the BUG IN ALL WINDOWS when we do not select ATTACHMENT or ALL FILES in SAVE AS TYPE, and this BUG can be avoided by selecting ATTACHMENT or ALL FILES in SAVE AS TYPE while saving. SOLUTION:- i. RESAVE the file in D:\BACKUP folder and making sure to select ATTACHMENT or ALL FILES in SAVE AS TYPE while saving. ii Redo the steps from 2 to 9 mentioned in IMPORT/RESTORE PROCEDURE *************************************************************************** ALTERNATE SIMPLE TROUBLE SHOOTING *************************************************************************** Select the following path and change in step 4 of IMPORT / RESTORE PROCEDURE and follow the step till step 9. ------------------------------------ FILE NAME RESTORE PATH NAME TO RESTORE ------------------------------------ MONDAY D:\BACKUP\MONDAY~1 TUESDAY D:\BACKUP\TUESDA~1 WEDNESDA D:\BACKUP\WEDNES~1 THURSDAY D:\BACKUP\THURSD~1 FRIDAY D:\BACKUP\FRIDAY~1 SATURDAY D:\BACKUP\SATURD~1 If SIMPLE TROUBLE SHOOTING does not work and problem is still there. Follow the following (THOROUGH TROUBLE SHOOTING.) *************************************************************************** ------------------------- THOROUGH TROUBLE SHOOTING ------------------------- ASSUMING THE FILE NAME IS MONDAY.ZIP (You should use the file name you are working on) a. dbl click on MYCOMPUTER b. select view c. select FOLDER OPTION d. select VIEW in FOLDER OPTIONS e. UNCHECK Hide file extension for know file types (8th row) (The above steps will enable you to see the complete files names in window explorer.) f. Now save the E-MAIL attached backup file on desktop (Remember to select Attachment or All Files (*.*) in SAVE AS TYPE) g. You will be able to see file MONDAY.ZIP j. Copy MONDAY.ZIP to D:\BACKUP folder. i. Follow from step 2. to 9. ***************************************************************************
